Coast & Islands
The Croatian coastline, together with its islands ranks among the most intricately indented coastlines in the world. Extending over 1700 kilometers, this is a unique area in the world for cruising with sailboats, sea kayaks or wind surfing, as well as for exploring the underwater world. With over 1100 islands, only 47 of them are inhabited and some are of such extraordinary beauty that became National Parks – Brijuni archipelago, Kornati archipelago and island of Mljet. Thousands of years of turbulent history were carved into stone buildings, walls and sculptures, dating from early civilizations on.

Mountains
Discover the magic of Croatian Mountains – in the river valleys and canyons, through dense forests and rocky ridges, karstic plains and lush green hills. As you move inland and north, the domination of bare rocks give way to thick forests, which during the winter receive abundance of snowfall - becoming a superb winter sports playground. Croatian Mountains offer still undiscovered beauty and thousands of kilometers of trails, easy to reach from several convenient destinations. Within some of the most diverse of terrain in the world, hikers can reach even the most hidden areas strewn between sea level and the highest peak on Dinara Mountain (1831m).

Rivers, Lakes and Canyons
Clear and cold, green waters of Croatian rivers spring high in the mountains, run through magnificent canyons and spill over limestone barriers in the sparkling curtains of waterfalls. High water levels in springtime and autumn offer a true and exhilarating white water experience. The Plitvice Lakes are interconnected by a myriad of waterfalls and are undoubtedly the beauty pinnacle of lake landscapes in both Europe and the world. Steep and deep canyons of rivers Zrmanja and Cetina will leave you feeling truly privileged – that’s how fascinating and exotic their beauty is. In addition to river sports they also offer challenge to climbers. In contrast, the canyons of rivers facing continental parts – Kupa, Dobra, Mreznica, Korana and Una – are blanketed with dense forests. The seasonal changes they undergo are quite dramatic and they are at their most beautiful in spring and autumn.
